My go to place to eat if I'm at Highlands area. So excited now they accept card!! Before it was just cash only but, Hey they take cards! I always loved their dynamite maki!! If you haven't tried it... Um you should. If you like spicy ahi and shrimp tempura. That's a great combo! Let's see.. their bubble drinks, is not that great. Something about it didn't taste like a regular boba. I ordered the strawberry bubble drink, took couple sips and let it sit for awhile. It looked like barf. Other than that enjoy their sushi! Always nice seeing the Asian nice lady behind the register ^__^

Yooooo! So I work downstairs, & Pearl Highlands food court is pretty much my lunch spot. Is this food court any good? Not really! But i make do with what I've got, especially on such a short lunch break! Sushi Man, aside of 2 other places here is my favorite go-to spots. Why? They make a DOUBLE SPAM MUSUBI! Yes, you heard that right. Double! I'm your typical local here in Hawaii that looooves spam musubi's! & their spam musubi with double pieces of spam & furikake nori rolled into the rice? Best dang musubi around here! They also have an iced coffee that is quite sweet, but I always get it with my musubi. So yes, spam musubi & iced coffee; My daily order! P.S. They also make great oreo bubble teas! P.S. (To the 2nd power) They do not have the most friendliest of workers here, so if you're looking for a smile or a thank you, good morning, or anything of that sort you're better off going to McDonalds up the road. I simply just come here for two items, & ignore the often sour/bored faces of the cashiers. Just remember to not take it personal, buy your food & GO.

Ordered 3 tuna rolls with brown rice came out to $7 kinda pricey for just 3 tuna rolls but I was hungry but anyways I could've gotten a plate lunch with $7 ... Sushi was good though!

For quick bite before a movie that's healthy and grain free... I'm digging it! Had the ahi poke bowl spicy-- and enjoyed it. I wouldn't go out of my way for this but it's a nice alternative to the usual food court food and since its in the food court by the movie theater it was a nice surprise.

There was no line, ordered the dynamite maki and crab roll and it took maybe less than 10 mins to get. What I didn't like was the guy was on his phone majority of the time. Some of the rolls are a little pricey but it's good sushi.

cashier was so rude, when she gave me my receipt she did not even state the fact that she had a number on the receipt nor even say thank you! when she called out a number I verified that I was my food she was trying to ask about. She rudely stated that is the reason why she gave me a number, when she didn't say anything about a number in the first place. I grabbed my food and left. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN, despite the fact I work very close. Rude service truly has an impact on the quality of your food.

Located in the food court of Pearl Highlands, a one stop shopping mall with Sams Club, Pier Imports, Ross, Game Stop, etc, the sushi is always made fresh when ordered. Unless you want to buy poke at Sams (if you have a membership card), it's the only sushi take out place to eat in the Highlands area. They also sell udon, and donburi, but since I can make that at home, I haven't ordered it: Deluxe Family Plate - 3 1/2 stars - for about $23, we got 40 pieces of different sushi. The ahi was fresh as well as all the other ingredients on the sushi since they freshly made it after I ordered it. The sushi is pretty much the same as Aloha Sushi, but I think it's a little more expensive and a little blander, more because it's in the Highlands food court where all the restaurants are a little pricier than outside. Egg Roll - 4 stars because my son loves to order this from them. For 2 pieces of tamago with mayonnaise wrapped like a cone. For a light bite, a convenient place to eat that's not greasy and for the kids to enjoy. They ask if you want wasabi on the side or in the sushi when ordering. However they don't take credit cards, so CASH only.

There's a lady there that doesn't have the best customer service. She watches her DVDs or is off doing something else but sets out a bell. There's two guys that work there that have awesome customer service. They're probably the typical high schooler - not yet exposed to human consumer cruelty yet. Let they're innocence last forever. The food itself is delicious. I'm hooked to their spicy ahi don or I grab some handrolls. According to my taste buds, their sushi is one of the best places. I like to think of this place as the Genki for ghetto people. They're not the cheapest but IT IS sushi and people are complaining more about rising ahi prices than gas prices. I think it's worth it. It's not a fancy place... I mean it's Pearl City and a food court. You could go in there with pajamas and you'd be fine. Their service is fast. I used to work at a sushi joint and i'm pretty amazed that they can handle a lot of orders at once. I'm not too sure about their cleanliness but for this area, ignorance is bliss. Note: Ordering with brown rice is quite a bit more expensive... Once it costed me an extra $4, the second time it costed me $2... idk. Also, the boss is a typical jerk-boss. She was being a b*tch to the cashier right in the front... To be honest, it brings back bad memories of when I was a working at a korean-owned sushi joint.

I came in here after helping out with community service and I really didn't expect much. I mean it is a FOOD COURT. I have only lived in Hawaii about 45 days and I am finally getting used to all the new sushi and I'm loving it. The told the lady at the counter that I wanted something with a little spice. She recommended the Spicy ahi maki, the dynamite maki and the red dragon. Spicy ahi maki--- will try the red dragon maki it looked awesome. The dynamite maki has shrimp with spicy ahi on top. You can request the ginger and wasabi on the side. You must ask for it though. Pretty much expect fast food quality sushi, although it still tasted quite good. The Spicy ahi maki didn't quite have any spice though.

This place would have 5 stars, if it wasn't for the portion size & cost. The CRUNCHY DON starts a party in my tummy ;) I get it with brown rice which is $1 more, but I love me my brown rice. If I'm not mistaken its $8.95 with white rice, its totally worth the price to satisfy your taste buds.BUT if your hungry, the portion size may not fill you up as you would like. Customer Service is good, all the times I've gone everyone seemed to be nice.

vEry unprofessional service. The cashier spend most his time on his phone, I had to get his attention to place my order. He didn't bother to give me my total or even a simple THANK you. the food was nothing special, very dissatisfied more so because sushi happens to be my favorite.

I absolutely love coming here for their dynamite maki. Very very tasty, spicy and expensive. Some things here are just a little too overpriced, especially for bubble drinks.

Okay, so this is basically fast-food sushi and we never make a complete meal out of coming here, but I'll give you two words for what keeps us comin' back: BUBBLE TEA! Whenever I get a craving for some, I get myself over to SushiMan. Sure, the drinks are almost $5 each (yikes!) but they have a good assortment of flavors, the bubbles are plentiful and the drinks are all blended very nicely. Everyone at the front counter has always been very friendly, too. I usually go for the Black Milk Tea w/Almond. A few times, it's been on the too-sweet side, so I just ask them to make it less sweet when I place my order. Sushi-wise, they do spicy ahi pretty good. We usually go for one of the maki-sushi with spicy ahi or their philly. Can't go wrong! SushiMan serves maybe half a dozen edamame with their maki, too. I like the ease of parking, the tasty bubble teas and their yummy sushi. Like I said, it's not gourmet or anything fancy shmancy, but it's hit the spot on many occasions. By the way... CASH ONLY. Wah.

The cashier lady is so rude!! I ordered a bubble milk tea without bubbles and tried to pay with my debit card. The lady said minimum five dollar, but I looked around and didn't see a sign. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right place. But whatever. I dug through my bag and found five singles to give her and got some change back. I sat down at a table directly in front of the sushi place and I swear I waited over 5 minutes for just a drink. She finally brought out my drink and motioned for me to come over. I went up to the counter, put my hand on the cup and said thank you and then I noticed there were BUBBLES in it. Even before I could tell her that I asked for NO BUBBLES, she looked at me with a shocked face and very rudely asked "DID YOU PAY?" I said yes, I just gave you five dollars and you gave me change. She looked confused and shook her head "no." I nodded my head "yes." She looked angry and said no. She then popped open the register's receipt roll to check if she actually rang me up - less than 10 minutes ago! There was only one other person after me! She found my receipt and then said ah, ok, ok and waived her hand that it was ok for me to take the drink. I asked for a napkin and then as I turned to walk away I muttered "I will never come here again." I should have made a bigger deal about her forgetting that I asked for no bubbles, since she was so adamant that I forgot to pay. WHY YOU GOTTA BE SO RUDE? At least apologize for doubting a paying customer!!

I discovered this little place on my search for a quick sushi fix. Located in the Pearl Highland shopping complex, it's in the food court right above Sam's Club. Best described as a hole in the wall shop. Right away I was a little sceptical because I like to eat my sushi at sit down places but I was pleasantly surprised by this "take out" joint. So far I have had the Philly Maki Roll - Cream cheese goodness Shrimp Tempura Roll - Always a safe first choice when trying a new sushi joint, was yummy and crispy! Dynamite Maki - Topping not visually please but yummy as well! So far I have enjoyed all three once you get past the dynamite roll topping kinda looks visually questionable but alas a good eat. The rolls are about 8 pieces each which is more than enough for me, the rice tasted nice and fresh not mushy or old. 1 star away cause the last philly roll I had was kinda to fishy and the texture was off from when I usually order, doused it with soy sauce and wasabi made it better. Favorite place to get my quick sushi fix :)

After our friends recommended this hidden place in a parking lot type of mall, we were excited to get a bite to eat. Cons: I don't know if we just ordered wrongly, but this place was one sushi short of a mayo mess. Every roll was so large, like, weirdly large, to the point where it was really uncomfortable to eat the whole thing at once. This resulted in bits of rice/fish/seaweed flying in all directions. I think the sushi was fresh, but I seriously wouldn't know for sure, since everything was covered in some kind of sauce, most of it tasting like flavored mayo. To top it off, the atmosphere was very ehh, like the kind of place you would grab food to go or stop for a quick bite on your way to somewhere else. Pros: Fast and friendly service. Cheap sushi for price and quantity (it fills you up!). Quality? If you like Americanized sushi, this place is for you.

Meh, just ok. Every time we are in the pearl highlands area I will stumble here for sushi, only because I would rather have sushi then eat at the other places in the food court. So in the past I have ordered the spicy ahi bowl. Probably better then the ahi bowl in Mililani. The Mililani one doesn't taste as good as this one. And the bowl is also bigger. Other things I have ordered are the spicy ahi maki. Its just ok. I don't like how they grind the fish. Almost like eating hamburger. And the flavors were weak. Today I ordered the red tiger maki. And...yah you guessed. It was just ok. It is sort of an ahi sushi placed on top of california roll. Very blan flavors. I tried to eat it with soy sauce. Still didn't satisfy me. And what's up with the huge sushi? Just like a girl mentioned in the reviews. I suggest the nigiri sushi mix or the ahi bowl. Those are worth buying. And I don't understand why this place makes their sushi so differently. The Mililani location has a different version of tiger maki and spicy ahi maki that is much tastier. Aren't these sushi man places like a franchise? Mililani here I come!!!!

This Sushi Man rocks for a small sushi shop! The dynamite roll is the best thing they've got on their menu! If you like spicy tuna you'll love this roll! It's reasonably priced for a small place and they're bubble drinks aren't that bad either! You can ask for extra sauce to make your roll more spicy. Love love love this place!
